The Adrenaline Freak® POWER SAS insert is the result of nearly two years of research and development and has been field-proven through our prior SAS Freak® XL kits.
Each insert undergoes an electroless nickel plating process infused with our proprietary PTFE formula, commonly known as Teflon®. The result is an insert permanently bonded with the second slickest coating on Earth. This is not a sprayed-on or baked-on PTFE coating. If an insert can be “white lasered,” it is not using this process. Those surface-level processes are temporary, are not permanently bonded, and will eventually deteriorate. We have previously shown videos demonstrating that each batch of 35 SAS inserts takes approximately 7 hours to finish.
The benefits of SAS include higher velocity, improved efficiency, increased consistency, and better paint-to-bore matching. Higher velocity allows you to lower your secondary regulator pressure for a more efficient platform. Increased consistency allows you to enter the field closer to 300 FPS with greater confidence. Better paint-to-bore matching can also improve accuracy by reducing gaps around paintballs that are not perfectly round.
We have found that downsizing one or two bore sizes is ideal, and our factory team players all downsize two sizes.
The full insert set is based on the Freak® POWER insert, is PWR™-compatible, and includes the following bore sizes: .677, .680, .686, and .689. Because our testing showed that many larger inserts in the XL kit went unused when downsizing two sizes, we focused this set around the sizes that matter most. A .689 SAS insert should be suitable for paint up to approximately .693.
Storage is handled by our four Adrenaline Barrel Sleeves, Adrenaline Strap, and Adrenaline Pod. This setup stores four inserts, while the fifth SAS size we make — .683, included with all Adrenaline Luxe AIRE models — can be transported in your barrel.
Each insert is machined with the bore size marked directly on the insert, similar to a standard POWER insert.
